School Supply Drive - Summer 2025
Hosted a supply drive to help donate school supplies. Coordinated with local community members , promoted the drive through social media and word-of-mouth, and successfully gathered a variety of items, including notebooks, pencils, crayons, and other materials, helping ensure students were prepared for the upcoming school year. Earned around $400 in school supplies.
Chinese School Supply Drive - Summer 2024/2025
Hosted two different supply drives and saved up money to donate supplies to under-resourced rural schools in Xi’an, China. In total, raised/donated around $1500. Since I wasn’t able to go back during the school year, sent the donations to my grandmother and she helped me deliver the donations. Received certificates from Xi’an local schools thanking me for both the donations along with multiple heartfelt thank you letters!

Love Across Mountains and Seas: The Public Welfare Journey of Max Bai
Bai Xile, English name Max Bai, is a high school student born and raised in the United States. Although he lives abroad, his connection with China has never been broken. Not only does he study Chinese diligently in the U.S. and actively participate in Chinese cultural and community activities, but he also spends his vacations traveling back to China with his mother to experience traditional culture and visit relatives.
Max’s grandmother is a highly respected retired teacher. Even after leaving the beloved podium, she continued to help students and schools as much as she could. Her words and deeds deeply influenced Max, instilling in him from a young age the desire to help others.
In the summer of 2024, during a family visit, Max went to the school where his grandmother once taught to tutor students in English. He also accompanied his grandmother to visit several rural elementary schools, personally witnessing the shortage of educational resources and the lack of school supplies among the children. This made him determined to use his own strength to help more people. With the pocket money he saved from part-time jobs and allowances, he purchased a large number of books and school supplies to donate to the local students.
After returning to the United States, Max immediately launched a fundraising campaign. He went door to door in his neighborhood and shared with classmates and friends his experiences in Chinese villages, successfully raising more than a thousand dollars. In 2025, with the help of his grandmother and mother, he used the funds to purchase more books and school supplies, which were then delivered to the children through his grandmother and aunt.
These gifts not only brought warmth to the children but also conveyed encouragement and care from across the ocean. The pure smiles blooming on the children’s faces when they received their brand-new school supplies were the most beautiful response to this act of love.
Max’s kindness not only provided material assistance, but also planted seeds of hope and love in the hearts of the children. His actions encouraged them to bravely pursue their dreams, to change their destinies with knowledge, and to carry forward this warmth and goodwill.
